The
fall show
A lot of loud talking was
going on. Not outside (where I was), but in the audience. I was anxiously
waiting to go on stage. There was a lot going in my head, all at once. What
happens if I mess up? What happens if I don't do the right thing? What happens
it I am the only one doing something? What happens if I get off beat?
I was in kindergarten, at
Rolling Hills Country Day. We were putting on a fall show. I saw my parents and
Uncle Ron in the audience. I had a lot energy body, but butterflies in my
stomach. Everything was ready to go. The teacher finally told us to go in.
We were going in, two by two.
It was me and my partners turn to go. As nervous as I was, I went in with a
smile that glimmered the room. Well, at least that what my parents told me.
When everyone got in, we started singing. It was very squashy and sticky on the
stage. The light were directly pointing us. Every time we moved, we had to
squeezed through to get to our next position for the next song.
We were singing and having a
good time. I was thinking that I over reacted for no reason. I was on fire! I
did everything right and I didn't miss a beat. Until........we started singing,
"whirly, twirly, whirly, twirly in the air. Whirly, twirly, whirly twirly
everywhere."
I was so into that song…
That I was singing when the
music was over. This is how it went, "whirly." Then I stopped
singing. I was so embarrassed that I did that! I almost started crying but, I
stayed strong! Everyone was laughing. Even my parents were laughing. Also, my
fellow classmates were laughing. Everyone was laughing so hard, they almost
fell to the ground. People were almost crying because they laughed so hard.
Everyone was imitating me! That was one of the most embarrassing days of my
life.
Even though I was really
embarrassed, I had to think that there would be many times when this happens.
That day I just stood there. Actually, I was proud because I got to do a mini
solo. Now, every time I do something embarrassing, I think to this time and how
I know everything will ok.
