            Assignment "assignment"

            Imagine a twelve year old getting a job assigned to them by someone else and having to keep that job forever. I interviewed my parents, my mom said to be an ultrasound technician and my dad said a teacher. The assignment asked what my parents think would be the best job for me. It also asked what I thought about my parents suggestion.

            My mom assigned me to be an ultrasound technician because she feels that they are in high demand right now and it would be easy to get a job. An ultrasound technician is a person who checks the baby while inside the womb through a device called an ultrasound. I don't have any interest in this profession because I don't know much about it and it doesn't seem fun to me.

            My dad assigned me to be a teacher because he knows I like being with younger kids. It is a possibility for me to be a teacher but they're a lot of bad students and it's easy to get laid off. You also don't get to pick your age group and I'm only 13 so I'm not ready. In order to be prepared, I would have to take college classes for years to learn.

            I would like to be an aerospace engineer because I am in STEM (science technology engineer and mathematics) right now and I am enjoying it. Also, there are so many more things to learn about space other than just our atmosphere. This is a better fit for me than the others because teaching and reading ultrasounds aren't what I picture myself as. I can see myself being an aerospace engineer because I want to design rockets and learn more about space.
